After its record-breaking first trailer, Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home presented fans what they have been hoping for: an epic story involving the multiverse and the return of many beloved characters. Now it looks like the excitement level will continue to elevate, with rumors brewing that a possible second trailer will be released ahead of Eternals' premiere.
While the first trailer confirmed many but not all theories, Spider-Man: No Way Home has been one of the most secretive yet popular MCU projects to date. Everything from small bits of information to enormous leaks that have teased the epic story seems to have surfaced online. Now it appears new information has been leaked, as BGR reports that a possibly bigger and more mind-blowing second trailer is approaching very soon.
According to a Twitter account that specializes in No Way Home leaked news, pictures from what appears to be from a movie theatre's internal system show a clip that runs for 3 minutes and 33 seconds that is set to play in theatres on October 25th. While Eternals doesn't release until November 5th, it ensures that the clip (if it turns out to be the next No Way Home trailer) would debut ahead of its release. Although the legitimacy of the photo still has yet to be proven, another hint is that that clip comes from an actual studio instead of being an ad is that it has a listed MPAA rating of PG-13, which all MCU films including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home have.
While there have been many leaks throughout its production (with Sony filing copyright claims on leaks of Andrew Garfield donning the Spider-Man suit), Spider-Man: No Way Home is due for another trailer, especially since its release date is roughly 2 months away. But for a film of this scale with the number of names surrounding it and also with Tom Holland claiming that No Way Home will mark the end of his Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy, one trailer may just be enough.
Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up where Far From Home left off, as the world now finally knows who Spider-Man is. Seeking Doctor Strange's help in restoring his secret identity through the use of magic, Peter Parker must then deal with multiversal consequences. There is definitely a lot to digest storywise, but after building up the multiverse all throughout this year in other MCU content, bringing back characters such as Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, and realizing the epic crossover with Tom Hardy's Venom that will occur, the stakes need to be higher than ever in order to create one of the most memorable MCU films to date.
Spider-Man: No Way Home also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Jamie Foxx as Electro, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to release in theatres on December 17th, 2021.
